Codan 7727C

In the 7515 & 7727 range of radios i have found that the early models have no letter designation, hence

"I" have given them the letter A.

My findings show the early models are a 6 channel where the later models B, C, TB are all 10 channel models, this also reflected in the

Service Manual.

The type 7727-C is a 100 wafts PEP transceiver, physically small, low in weight and ideal for both mobile and base (fixed) station installations where the operator requires a high level of transmitter power output This latest ‘C series transceiver is electrically identical to the now superseded B’ series but new finish colours and front panel styling changes have been introduced to match other transceivers in our product range such as type 7727-TB mobile equipment.

A Mute facility, operator selectable, effectively eliminates background (atmospheric) noise in the absence of a signal. An impulse noise limiter, when selected, virtually eliminates interference from ignition and other similar sources during signal reception periods.

A digital selective cal! facility based on CCIR recommendation 493 (Geneva 1 972) may be internally fitted to the transceiver. This can provide both encode only or encode/decode capabilities. A separate product data sheet provides full details

A receiver scanning facility is available as an option. This allows either selective calling or voice signal scanning for up to 6 channels. When a signal is received the scan cycle stops and a numerical display identifies the called channel.

Broadband block filtering design techniques in the transmitter output circuitry ensure that the unit can be inter-changed between installations without technician adjustment. The transceiver is produced and guaranteed for 12 months by an Australian owned and operated company which remains committed to the design, manufacture and marketing of HF 858 communications products Antennas

The transceiver may be used with any 50 ohm antenna system.

For mobile applications it is most frequently installed in conjunction with our code 300 series multi-frequency (tapped) helical :hip antennas or with the code 311 automatic frequency select multi-channel whip antenna.

For fixed (base) applications it may be used with either conventional single frequency wire dipole antennas in conjunction, there necessary, with our type 7101 automatic antenna selectors: alternatively, it  may be installed with our code 402 series broadband antenna systems for multi-frequency working into a single antenna system.

The transceiver may also be used with our type 7208 Mk2B manual or type 7403 preset antenna tuners and associated code 403 end-fed long wire antenna or code 406 guyed whip antennas.
